Picture of Colorado Youth Pipe Band

Founded in 1989, the Colorado Youth Pipe Band is a longstanding feature of the Scottish music community in the Western United States.

The Colorado Youth Pipe Band teaches the traditions of Highland bagpipes, drums, and dance to youth. We foster appreciation, skill, leadership, pride, and camaraderie through performance and competition.

We perform in parades and at festivals, ceremonies and celebrations along the Colorado Front Range.  We also participate in band competitions sanctioned by the Western United States Pipe Band Association (WUSPBA).

Our band members are youth between (about) 6 to18 years.  No musical instrument or dance experience is necessary to participate.  Kids learn and develop bagpiping, drumming and Highland dance skills from experienced and supportive instructors in a fun and engaging setting.

As Colorado's only youth pipe band, we attract members from all along the Colorado Front Range. The band is based in Denver but families and instructors may come from as far south as Colorado Springs and as far north as Fort Collins.
